New Radiant and Mahindra UTD playing in AFC cup 2007

Male', MALDIVES -
New Radiant's home games played in AFC Cup group matches would kick off earlier than the usual timings. The match against Perak (Malaysia) and Kitchee (Hong Kong) will start at 1545 local time and the game against Singapore Armed Forces will start at 1530.

New Radiant's chairman Ali Azim said to maldivesoccer.com that they pre-poned the kick-off time for the benefit of the team.

"All the other teams look for advantages and arrange according to their benefit. So this time, we also changed for the benefit of ours"

New Radiant has qualified in the last four consecutive years for the regional tournament.. Last year, they had a devastating tournament. They lost all their matches and finished the group stages without a single point. However, New Radiant has the best record of a Maldivian team in the AFC Cup when they reach the semi finals of the AFC Cup 2005..

New Radiant is in a strong group this year as well. They have to play against Perak who are in the 2nd position of Malaysian Super League, Singapore Armed Forces and Hong Kong's Kitchee. This would be Kitchee's first tournament while, Singapore Armed Forces had a good reputation against Maldivian teams. They defeated New Radiant in home and away last year.
